God and me Monday: Heavy bags

January 12, 2015

This is us wishing all of you God´s best in 2015!!
Every year we come up with resolutions of things we want to change or keep in our lives. Most of the time, we end up forgetting about the resolutions after January. That is why we are doing it different this year. We have made the decision to seek God with all we are.
Blogging has really helped us with our hair journeys so we are going to use this blog to share our journey with God in strong faith that you will also find encouragement in Him.

I am so privileged to have the opportunity to do the first post .
I will start by sharing a dream I had on 2nd January 2015.
I my dream I was carrying a huge bag which was obviously too heavy for me, it was so big that I actually had to drag it on the ground. Then suddenly someone came over to me and said “That bag is way too heavy for you, let me carry it for you.” I more than willingly let Him carry the bag for me and I did not think about the bag again.
On waking up the dream kept bothering me. I kept wondering why I could not carry the that bag by myself, It just bothered me that I could not carry it. Later on during the day as I was doing my dishes, I heard a voice within me saying “You mean you have no idea who helped you carry that bag in that dream” Right then and there my dream made perfect sense. The person who carried my bag was Jesus! Immediately I googled up the scripture that says this exact thing and found;

Matthew 11:28 (New King James Version)

 Come to Me , all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

This verse has never been more alive to me since then. Sometimes we focus so much on our difficult situations that we forget about the one who can take the burden from us. Jesus wants to help us carry our heavy loads. I have given Him all of mine and I hope that you also find the rest that I have found by giving Him all of your Heavy bags.

God bless you!
Joanne

  1. We have all carried heavy bags at some points in our lives. Matthew 11:28 goes a long way to show that we do not have to be alone in difficult situations, Jesus is there to help us deal with the pain, the tears and the worries. So cast your cares upon him. Let go and let God!
